100% OF CHICKS DIG IT
I'm in perfume testing mode since all of the new fragrances are coming out and perfume houses have sent over their spring/summer launches. Burberry's latest is soft and romantic. It is described as a floral fruity green fragrance with sparkling top notes of blackcurrants, pomegranate with citrus freshness of mandarin and white peach, floral heart notes of freesia, honeysuckle, lily of the valley and white rose finished with a soft woody dry-out with cedarwood, sandalwood and musks.
When you first spray it, it is definitely a fruity green fragrance, which is not my favourite, but after wearing it a few hours, it mellows into something really lovely. The base notes of sandalwood and musk as well as the lily of the valley become more prominent after about an hour. I tend to prefer musk or vanilla based scents so I think it smells really great as the day wears on.
Since it is a summer fragrance and an eau de toilette (vs. an eau de parfum), it is lighter and designed to be worn easily in the sticky summer months without being overwhelming or souring under the hot sun. It would be equally suitable to wear to work or for a date on a warm summer night.
Burberry Summer is due in stores April 2010.
