I love this place! I go there every morning and I have never been disappointed. The staff is so friendly, the drinks are great, and the price is pretty good too. The place is usually packed and I can see why. I definitely recommend this place!
I stopped in on one of the first days they were open and offering free coffee. It was purely by accident, but I looked in the window and liked the decor, and was on my way to Starbucks ... one of the employees called me in, he was standing by the door, I ordered a Turkish latte, and let me tell you, it was superb, real cardamom was in there, it was rich and creamy and "expressive" ... the only complaint, and I heard this from someone else I urged to go there, was the temperature, it wasn't as hot as I like, however, it was still brand spanking new and I'm sure they are still working out some kinks, I will definitely go back. The service was warm and friendly. But what it all boils down to is the coffee, and it's very, very good.
I came by on the weekend to check it out. I had a latte that was really creamy. It was certainly one of the best I've had in Toronto. I love having something in that neighborhood that is different from Starbucks and Le Gourmand. It doesn't hurt that the guys behind the counter are cute, LOL!
I was disappointed after waiting to try this coffee shop. While the two guys behind the counter were clearly working I was shocked at how long I had to wait for someone to acknowledge I was there. A smile to let me know they had seen me would have been fine.
I ordered an americano - which is my standard. They were very knowledgeable about the coffees they were serving/roasting but didn't explain at all to me what sizes or amount of espresso I would be served. I got a 10 oz cup and it was definitely a single.
The flavour was palatable at best. The creama was so-so.
Probably their milk drinks hide more of the coffee flavour and smooth things out but I don't think I'll waste my morning coffee needs on their coffee again.
I tried a latte from Sense Appeal this morning and it was excellent. The froth was perfectly smooth and the coffee was fresh. I also loved how I got a leaf design and Jen got a heart made with the cream - a fun touch.
I really like the rustic feel of the shop, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and prices are excellent. I have nothing but good things to say.
I would honestly choose Sense Appeal over Starbucks any day (and not just because it's only a few floors below the office).
I love this little coffee shop that opened in our building!
The whole feel of it is very unique and rustic, just the way I like my coffee shops. I love how some of their menu items are categorized into different flavor groupings - different from many generic coffee shops. They really do know their stuff!
I had the cappuccino which was very frothy, with a smooth aftertaste. I didn't taste the overwhelming bitterness of the coffee that I usually do, even in cappuccinos. It was fantastic.
Their prices are great too. I'll definitely make this my morning coffee spot!
They also make ice cream using liquid nitrogen and cream, which I am so excited to try! Can't wait!
Had the latte today. YUM! Delish, just as expected!
Also got to try some of their pastries. If you love Hazelnut/Nutella, try the Gianduia or Nocciola. You'll be in HEAVEN!
The service alone is amazing, especially compared to other places in the area where they get your order wrong almost every time or don't have a debit machine.
Sameer is definitely a coffee enthusiast and is great with his customers. He really showed off his skills when he made sorbet for us using liquid nitrogen. Their cappuccino is sweet, and made to perfection, with a little white heart in the middle. I am impressed! :)
I don't think I've ever been so excited for a cafe to open! Sense appeal is in my office building and prior to opening, every evening for the last two weeks, we've enjoyed the delicious aroma of roasted coffee beans wafting up to our suite. I popped in once when the door was open and owner/barista Sameer treated me to the smoothest, creamiest espresso machiato I've ever tried. He also did a demonstration of making ice cream with cream and liquid nitrogen, which was pretty insane. These guys are true coffee aficionados and it shows. If you are a bean snob, this will make your list of favourite cafes in the city.
Today they have semi-opened to the public and I picked up a velvety latte that tasted like chocolate. Absolutely heavenly.
Lactose intolerant customers will be happy to know they also offer lactose-free milk, soy milk and almond milk.
It's a small cafe that you might not notice driving along Spadina but you MUST pop in and have a try. You won't be disappointed.
I'm in heaven! I've just tried their Pumpkin latte and it's incredible. Made with real roasted pumpkin and a home made caramel cinnamon syrup, it's the best latte I've ever tried.
They also make fresh pastries and an assortment of other delectable goodies. I'm more impressed with every visit!
