10 Decadent Dessert Recipes with Leftover Halloween Candy

When I was a child, it was well known that parents had the right to 5% of your Halloween candy. It was like a tax. A fee for them taking you out for the night. No, I wasn't happy about it, but it wasn't up for discussion.

Now, I suggest that those of you with children (if you haven't already done so) totally put the 'candy fee' into practice. I mean, they can't finish it all, right? Once you've gotten your candy tax, you'll be tempted to gorge on it (and I whole heartedly support this). However, there are actually a ton of yummy desserts that you can create with your candy. I think making a dessert is way better, it's like double deliciousness.

If you don't have kids (whose candy you can "test out" for them), then I suggest hitting up your grocery store ASAP. This is the perfect time because all the leftover fun size candy goes on sale so you can stock up and use some to create these decadent desserts.

1. Candy Cake: A surprise inside a cake, when you cut it skittles fall out!

2. Chocolate Bark: Chocolate bark is very simple to make and packaged nicely makes a cute little DIY gift. Keep this one around for the holiday season and substitute Halloween candy with candy cane.

3. Chocolate Bar Cookie: A chocolate bar baked into a cookie? Two good things in one!

4. Mars Bar Mousse: I've never heard of this before, but oh my, do I want to try it.

5. Candy Corn Fudge: This one is definitely for the chick with the sweet tooth!

1. Milky Way Pudding: Kids don't like Milky Way bars anyway, right?

2. Reese's Fingers Cookie: Both Reese's Pieces and Butterfingers are used to make this mouth watering cookie.

3. Twix Cheesecake: I think those Twix chunks on top would be extra tasty.

4. Sweet Tart Milkshake: Interesting idea: use those sweet tarts to make a combination dessert-beverage.

5. Peppermint Patty Brownies: I love mint, chocolate and warm and gooey brownies. This one is bookmarked for me.

Which of these desserts has caught your eye?

What neat ideas! So fun and cute and an awesome way for people to use up left over candy. I got to say I really like the cake with the surprise candy in the middle that's a great idea for a birthday party.

o em gee thanks for this article!! I am going to gain like 10lb by these awesome ideas. I have a child who loves all things chocolate which comes from me. The sweet tart shake didn't appeal to me, I don't like tangy things like that.

OMG! How do you choose best? They all look and sound amazing! But a great idea to use up some left over candy. I know I have a ton left this year because not too many kids came due to the rain.
