10 Hidden Gem Drugstore Skincare Products
A trip to the drugstore never ceases to amaze me and always results in me laying down some major cash. However, in my defence, you can find some great products at an equally great price point.
With all of the products that line the walls, it's inevitable that some get lost behind all that glossy and shiny packaging that is oh so very distracting. I think it's worth it to take a second look at these ones because often times, they're of really great quality and a totally hidden beauty gem!
So, because I want to shine a little light on these forgotten products, I rounded up 10 of my favourite drugstore skincare products that I feel don't get enough love and attention. Here they are:
1. Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm (C$9.59): A multi-use product for dry, chapped or cracked skin. Think of it as your winter survival holy grail.
2. Boots No.7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum (US$23.99): For anti-aging, line reduction and prevention, try this popular product that's received rave reviews in the UK.
3. Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 5 (C$8.49): With 5% benzoyl peroxide, this is a powerful lotion for spot treatment.
4. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion (C$19.09): Made for sensitive skin, Cetaphil is known for being non-comedogenic and soothing.
5. Soap & Glory Flake Away Spa Body Polish (C$18.00): A personal favourite, I find this scrub really emulsifying and I like the grainy texture to buff away dead skin cells.
1. Neutrogena Moisture Wrap Body Lotion (US$7.99): I've been using this recently to help combat the chilly winds of Canada and I have to say, my skin has never felt better!
2. Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Overnight Peel (C$19.99): Another staple in my skincare routine, this peel has helped to speed up the healing process with acne scarring and spots.
3. Polysporin Visible Lip Health Daily Hydration Therapy (C$5.99) and Polysporin Antiobiotic Cream Heal-Fast Formula (C$11.99): Polysporin can aid in scar reduction and they've just come out with a lip care product that promises 8 hour lip hydration.
4. @mosphere Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash (C$7.59): You all know I'm a big fan of using tea tree oil to spot treat pimples. But a cleanser infused with tea tree oil is less drying and a great way to have tea tree oil in my routine.
5. OXY Deep Cleaning Daily Cleaning Pads (C$5.99): These pads are soaked in salicylic acid, so while they are on the harsher side, used with moisturizer, they work to deep clean your skin. I like to use them on my neck, chest and back after a workout.
Have you used any of these? What are some of your favourite hidden drugstore gems?

We use the Cetaphil lotion here and we love it!
I wonder if Polysporin is the Canadian version of Neosporin (I have never heard of Polysporin before), but I love the Neosporin lip balm, it looks the same, and it works really well for me.
I love Garnier and Polysporin!!
I have also been wanting to try the Boots No.7 serum... I'm going to have to check out Shoppers!
@takoda Yes! I believe it is exclusive to Shoppers Drug Mart here in Canada or you could try online.
I have been trying out the Garnier skin renew dark spot over night peel and seem to be getting pretty good results. I had to stop because I'm trying out some Burt's Bee's products, but I will definitely be returning to it as soon as I'm done with the Burt's Bee's products. |
