The Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAGs) were presented this weekend, and as usual, we have some fashion to gush and snark about.  Especially after the fun we had dissecting the Golden Globes.

Stars Who Traded Up
You'll have a tough time finding a unified opinion on January Jones' Golden Globes dress (it was a barely-there red number, remember?), but in my humble opinion, I think she traded up for the SAGs in this demure Carolina Herrera - even if it's a little busy.  Natalie Portman's blush gown from the Globes with the strangely placed flower applique is now a distant memory, as I'm loving her in this white sheath... though it could have been a half-size bigger.  Helena Bonham Carter's dress might have been panned on another actress, but such a "normal" look from her deserves a thumbs up.  But am I the only one who misses the crazy?

Stars Who Traded Down
Now don't get me wrong - I don't dislike these dresses per se.  But I think Mila Kunis, Amy Adams, and Claire Danes' Golden Globe choices were better.  Agreed?

Red Carpet Fails
I was bored by Nicole Kidman's simple white Globes gown, but in retrospect, it looks pretty darn good compared to this black number.  Kate Mara's dress not only looks uncomfortable to wear, it's even uncomfortable to look at.  And Christina Hendricks?  As one commentator mused, "it seemed a few sparkles away from something in Hugh Hefner's closet".

Oh, and in case anyone cares, The King's Speech won for ensemble cast and Best Actor, while Black Swan took Best Actress and The Fighter took both Supporting Actor awards.  No surprises there.
