3 Easy Summer Spa Water Recipes

Water is my favourite drink.  Straight up, on the rocks or as a side with my espresso, nothing beats the refreshment of water.  I especially love Spa Water. First, because you are usually at the spa when you drink it.  Second, I love the subtle flavours of fresh cucumber, citrus fruits, herbs and berries.

On my recent trip to Napa the hotel made Strawberry Cucumber water that I couldn't get enough of, so I decided to concoct a few original recipes using some of summer's finest ingredients.

Raspberry Mint

Of the 3 waters, this was the most refreshing.  The Mint makes it slightly cool in your mouth if you let it sit for 5 minutes.  In a glass of filtered ice water, add:

2 Mint leaves, torn
5 Organic Raspberries

Cucumber Lemon Rosemary Water

This is a zesty twist on traditional cucumber water.  The Rosemary is so fragrant yet subtle and the lemon adds a jolt of colour and citrus flavour.  You will need:

1 Sprig Rosemary
1 Thin slice of Lemon
4 Thin slices of Cucumber

Strawberry Basil Lemon Water

This one tastes like summer in a glass.  The earthy taste of the fresh basil mingled with farm fresh strawberries is so delicious.  The lemon adds an extra kick but it would taste great without it too.  To make your own summer in a glass you will need:

1 Thin slice of Lemon
2 Basil leaves, torn
2 Organic Strawberries, sliced

Thoughts?  Would you try any of these or do you have any recipes of your own you'd like to share?

I have a glass bottle that I keep in the fridge, full of water and whatever veggies, fruits and fresh herbs I have around. Cucumber, carrot and mint is the most common. And you don't have to throw away the flavour makers every time, just refill the bottle - the veg are usually good for about a week if refreshed regularly. Definitely makes for a nice change (and it's reeeeeeeeally delicious mixed with premium vodka!)

These look awesome! I think I'm going to try out the raspberry & mint water recipe the next time I'm feeling relaxed, and need a little bit of spa treatment in my glass! Awesome ingredients, too.
