3 Tips and Tricks for Your Best Mani Ever
Am I the only one that has a love/hate relationship with nail art? On the one hand (pun intended), when nail art goes well, it is unbelievably satisfying. I mean, how proud are you of yourself when your nails look gooood?
On the other hand, doing your nails can be a pain in the you-know-what. Here's some info to make life a little easier and to make your mani the very best you could possibly have.
#1: DIY Nail Growth Base Coat
I've mentioned before how biotin is one the best supplements to add to your diet for excellent hair and nails. So why not apply it directly to your nails to help them grow and strengthen? DIY a nail growth formula with strengthening base coat and liquid capsules of biotin. Basically, you just want to break the capsules into the base coat. Here are step by step instructions.
#2: Keep Your Mani Neat and Tidy
Water marble manicures look gorgeous, but they can be messy. Polish gets all over your cuticles and fingers. To prevent this (though it may seem a little odd) try glue! Just apply glue around your nail and let dry. After you've painted your nails, just peel the glue off. (via doitandhow.com)
#3: Sharpies Make Good Polish
Metallic sharpies can totally be used on nail polish, which is awesome news for nail art enthusiasts! The best part is, to take it off, you can use rubbing alcohol. (via thebeautydepartment.com)

I love these ideas, totally worth a try. I've never tried water marbling but it looks very interesting and I'd love to try it out!
@jl13 glue should be fine, most glues and the one they recommend using are non toxic and are fine to use. Plus, remember you'll be peeling it off. Sharpies are also on top of a polish so I think it should be ok. But products are never recommended to be used for anything other than their original purpose, so yes I do agree be careful and maybe don't use it all the time.
Also instead of glue I've heard you can put Vaseline around the nail and then when you're finished just wipe it away for the same results.
Glue!!! Why didn't I think of that! I use the same method mask off areas when I'm etching glass, so I should have thought of this! Thanks! :)
Great tips thanks. |
