5 Essential Fashion Trends You Need This Spring
The snow is finally starting to melt and that means it's officially acceptable to bring out my printed pants and not have to hide them underneath my bulky jacket. This also means that I can shamelessly talk about the Spring trends that you need to have in your closet - because you will literally be seeing them everywhere. But do not fret ladies, there are enough prints and bright colours to go around! Does anyone else want to throw out their whole closet and have a shopping spree or is it just me? If only there was a government grant for a new Spring wardrobe...
In the meantime, here are the top five spring trends to get you in the springy mood!
#1. The Printed Trouser: A printed pant is so essential for Spring! This trend is popping up in almost every brand this season and I am loving it. Most printed trousers work best when cropped, which is perfect for any body shape or size and makes any outfit pop.
1. Old Navy Pixie Skinny Ankle Pant (C$25.00)
2. JCrew Factory Printed Skimmer Pant (US$68.50)
3. Rachel Rachel Roy Nat Pant (C$89.00)
#2. The Pointed-Toe Flat: I will always enjoy my round toe shoes, and will stand by them forever, but ladies, the pointed-toe shoes are coming back and I say let's give them a try! The points are a lot less cockroach killers and more subtle now a days. They also come in so many colours and styles that are perfect for spring!
1. Forever 21 Classic Pointed Flat (C$19.80)
2. Gap Printed Pointy Flats (C$39.95)
3. Sam Edelman Brina (C$140.00)
#3. The Everyday Athlete: Many brands are coming up with ways to make fashion comfortable and stylish. This trend is all about integrating sports wear into everyday style, so we'll be seeing a lot loose pants and varsity jackets. They're also making it fashionable to wear baseball caps, which I sort of love.
1. Forever 21 Knite Bomber Jacket (C$39.80)
2. Talula Los Feliz Pant (C$65.00)
3. Zara Mesh Dress with Flounce (C$79.00)
#4. The Embellished Top: This trend is so wearable and can take you from work to a night - no extra accessories needed! (That's my fave part!)
1. Old Navy Embellished Chambray Shirt (C$36.94)
2. Banana Republic Embellished Stripe Tank (C$85.00)
3. Loft Neutral Stone Necklace Tee (C$57.95)
#5: Pastel is the New Black: …Well for spring at least. Pastels are everywhere and it's hard to get away from this trend. Violet and baby pink, this trend was all over the red carpet. Our imaginary bestie Lupita Nyong'o even sported some pastel baby blue at the Oscar's.
1. Vero Moda Blazer in Pink ($C39.99)
2. Old Navy Slub-Knit V-Neck Tee (C$10.00)
3. Gap 1969 Legging Jean (C$79.95)

I'll admit to getting a pair of the Old Navy Pants and loving them.
These are all still essentials this spring too :)
I love the pastels! Very nice!
I wish i could wear pointed toe shoes evryday but i have a wide foot they never feel comfortable...love the old navy pixie pants not crazy about all the prints they tend to make you look wider
I like the everyday athlete style! Not that much of a fan of the pointed toes though.
Love the pastels, not really liking the pointed-toe flats. I think they make feet look really long.
I wouldn't wear printed pants myself unless it's a small, subtle print that won't make my bottom half look disproportionately larger. Anything else is fair game!
I love the pants but I am worried about them making me look bigger on the bottom. Guess I will just have to try them on.
Printed pants are the bomb!
I love the spring looks especially the printed pants. Spring, please come...NOW. |
