5 Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

If you are a major Halloween enthusiast, you probably picked out your costume sometime around November 1st last year. If you fall into the group of, well, almost everybody else - it's crunch time, people. To save you from having to fight other last minute shoppers in the costume racks, here are five last minute costume ideas that can be put together quickly and from pieces that are likely already in your closet.

Breakfast at Tiffany's is a classic for a reason, Holly Golightly's signature style is effortlessly chic. Grab your favourite little black dress and pair it with some fake pearls (an easy thrift store find) - and voila, costume accomplished! Wear winged black eyeliner, some long black gloves and style your hair in a French twist to polish off the look.

Sandy's transformation from school girl to sassy at the end of Grease is such a major moment. Throw on a pair of black tights with a black top or a leather jacket, then add some red heels and rock a red lip. Extra points if you can convince someone to dress up and be your Danny for the night.

Dark and moody, Wednesday Adams is a Halloween classic. Wear a white collared shirt layered under a black dress, and style your hair in two tight braids. Combat boots, black tights, and dark lipstick complete the look. Make sure to wear your costume with major sass and a scowl.

Rosie the Riveter is the ultimate female-empowering outfit, and to top it off, it is cheap and easy to make. You can break the no jean on jean rule this once, it's Halloween, we'll forgive you.

I blame Cher Horowitz for most of my '90s fashion obsessions, and Halloween is the perfect opportunity to imitate her wardrobe. Pair a white collared shirt with a black blazer and a plaid skirt. To perfect your outfit, don't forget Cher's signature knee socks, and of course carry large shopping bags to accessorize. Could a costume be better than this? "As if!"

Are you the last minute type, or do you have a costume already picked out and ready to go?

Half and half.. some years like this year I'll end up last minute, and some years like a couple years ago I'll have it all planned out and purchased a month ahead.
