5 Quick Tips for Pin Straight Hair

| Thursday December 23, 20104 comments

Let him run his fingers through your uber-sleek, pin straight hair - none of that "stuck in the middle with you" business.  Here are a few quickie tips and prods to get the look you want:

Tip 1: Use flat irons made with tourmaline or ceramic like the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron that cause less damage to your hair.

Tip 2: Try a flat iron heat protectant spray such as Marc Anthony's Style Straight Iron Shine spray with moisture protection to help your hair stay straight and smooth even through the static and snow.

Tip 3: For best results, angle the iron inwards as you pull down and work with small portions of hair at a time.

Tip 4: Finish off with a serum (we have a few suggestions there), and run it through the ends of your hair.

Tip 5: If you have side bangs, use a little bit of wax at the ends to keep it in place.

What is your secret to a sleekly straight style?

So true - if you miss a spot it is so obvious! It's happened to me on one too many occasions when I try and rush

I think so too, mamaluv!

I always separate my hair into at least 4 sections to make sure I don't miss a spot.. Nothing worse than having a chunk of hair that is not straightened!

Sometimes I think that perfectly straight hair is the hardest style to do!

Great tips! I definitely agree with Tip 3 - some days when I'm lazy I try and straighten large portions at a time, not only does it leave a slight wave in my hair, but it doesn't give that great shine that you get when you straighten small portions at once.
