5 Spring 2012 Perfumes To Try

It's time for spring cleaning! And chicks, this doesn't exclude your beauty collection either. We've discussed makeup expiration dates before and it's important to remember that these actually do matter and they extend to your perfumes as well. This springtime, it may be time to ditch some of those old scents and try out a fresh new one and even if it isn't time to get rid of some of your collection, you can never smell too good, right? So, with that in mind, we've got five decadent smelling scents for you to choose from this spring!

Anna Sui Fairy Dance (US$60.00)
Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour Spring 2012 Collection (US$26.00, each)
Cherry Blossom Gold Necklace
Solarbloom Clutch (US$78.00)

Anna Sui's Fairy Dance fragrance is perfect for that princess at heart! It's gourmand fragrance with notes of raspberry, mango and pink pepper. It also contains floral notes with rose flowers, peony, bamboo, sandalwood, vanilla and vetiver. This fragrance is perfect paired with feminine accessories for a day spent with the girlfriends.

Lancome De L'Orangerie (C$54.00)
Essie Nail Polish in 'She's Picture Perfect' (C$9.75)
Michael Kors Jet Set Small Travel Tote (US$228.00)
Lulu's 'You Really Link Me' Turquoise Necklace (US$15.00)

Like the name suggests, this perfume is a sunny, fresh scent that has the strong smell of oranges. We love this scent especially for spring and summer, it's the perfect everyday, casual perfume. To match with this perfume, stick with clean and modern pieces in bright, bubbly colours.

Burberry Body Body Mist (C$70.00)
ChicWish Double Layers Drop Necklace (US$13.90)
Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Affair Bag (C$512.46)
Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in 'Bangkok' (C$32.00)

Burberry Body is a softer, sensual and feminine fragrance; and as a body spray it's light enough to wear throughout the day. It's a bit more mature so we think this one is great for the working professional or for a casual night out with friends. Go for a sophisticated, classic look with this scent. We like this Chanel inspired quilted bag and simple and elegant necklace with a chic pink, matte lipstick.

CK One Summer 2012 Edition (US$45.99)
Deborah Lippmann Polish in 'On The Beach' (US$16.00)
NastyGal Jagged Edge Shades (US$38.00)
Luxirare Wallet Necklace (US$95.00)

CK One Summer is unisex fragrance with heavy cucumber, apple and rosemary notes but also with a spicy, woody under layer. This perfume is made with sunny days at the beach in mind and you can definitely feel that! Being unisex though, it's on the edgy side so we like to accessorize this one with masculine inspired pieces and funky eye wear and polish.

Nina Ricci Fantasy (C$79.84)
Asos Slot Through Envelope Clutch (C$34.81)
Soft Leather Coral Ballet Flats (US$70.00)
Rouge In Love Lipstick in '322M Corail in Love' (US$25.00)

Nina Ricci Fantasy is a dreamy, fresh, feminine and sweet fragrance. It's a floral and fruity perfume with intense sugar, cherry blossom, pear and apple scents. This is more of a daytime fragrance but on the right person could definitely double duty for a romantic night out. Go for a girly look with this fragrance; pair with light pastels and corals and look for vintage inspired pieces.

@Becky I think you can basically use solid perfume like you would a liquid- apply on wrists and neck area.

@Alize I know- me too!! When I did this article it was still available- someone out there has excellent taste!

I'm not usually a fan of more masculine fragrance but I LOVE CK one summer actually- its spicy but very fruity and floral and fresh because of the cucumber, it's on my spring wish list.

I love those light fruity scents with a hint of flower in them. I usually wear them in the summer time though. But I would love to try the perfumes listed here some day :)

My favourite scent is Vanille Noire by Yves Rocher, but the one that smells the best on me (that I've tried!) is Eternal Magic Enchanted by Avon. My boyfriend absolutely LOVES how it smells on me, and it still has that hint of vanilla that I love.

Becky, Wouldn't you just rub some on your finger and from there on your wrists, etc?

I have Burberry Body and I love it! Being a girl that prefers softer scents it works great for me!

A really dumb question: I have a perfume pendant from Elizabeth Arden. When you open the pendant you see the waxy solid perfume inside. How exactly do you apply it? Or how do you use it? Do you just wear it around your neck and hope someone sniffs hard enough to smell it?
