5 Ways to Use Bio-Oil (Aside From Stretch Marks)

Bio-Oil is the best selling scar and stretch mark product in 11 countries, but as we've recently discovered, it has many more uses!  Here are a number of surprising ways you've probably never even thought of using it before (well, at least we didn't).

Eye Make Up Remover: Not only is Bio-Oil effective in removing eye makeup (even waterproof formulas), it will moisturize your very sensitive eye area and condition your lashes!

Hair Treatments: If you have dry hair and split ends from years of dyeing your hair like me, then a Bio-Oil hair treatment might be exactly what you need. Pour a small amount into the palm of your hand, warm it up between your hands, and apply to your ends. Apply it to dry hair before bed and then wash in the morning. Or, put it on hair after styling to tame frizz and soften ends.

Cuticle Softener: Even if your nails are perfectly painted, dry cuticles can ruin the entire manicure. Try Bio-Oil as a cuticle treatment to soften them; if you're using an orange stick with your manicure, this will make your cuticles easier to push up.

For Travel: After a day at the beach, even the best of us may get a little too much sun. Bio-Oil can be used to soothe burnt skin and replenish moisture. As an added bonus, it relieves those itchy mosquito bites too!

In Your Make-Up Kit: Bio-Oil is a great addition to your cosmetics bag, here are a few tips and tricks.
- Mix with an illuminator or any creamy blush with sheen, using a fan brush, sweep on the cheekbones, nose or forehead to give a dewy complexion.
- Bio-Oil can be used as a primer because it makes skin soft. Makeup can be applied smoothly over top once it's absorbed into the skin.
- For a little pick-me-up, mix cold water with a few drops of Bio-Oil. Put the mixture into a spray bottle and spritz your face for a little refresher.

Can you think of anymore uses for Bio-Oil? Let us know in the comments below, the best tip or trick will win a bottle of Bio-Oil!

Bio-Oil is definitely my go-to product for everything. I use it on my face, body, as a cuticle treatment and on my roots (it can soothe a dry scalp). I also like to have a facial using Bio-Oil. All I do is add a few drops of this amazing oil to a bowl of warm water, soak a facecloth in the mixture and then leave it on my face for up to five minutes. Your skin will feel hydrated and rejuvenated. More on its uses here - http://www.youthfulhabits.com/beauty/8-creative-ways-to-use-bio-oil/

I know the contest is closed but I do have a great use for Bio Oil. Towards the end of the day my skin around my eyes dries out a bit. I place a bit of Bio Oil on my finger tips and dab around my eyes. Ta-da, I'm glowing again and the lines around my eyes are not as noticeable. I can even add face powder and do not get that dried-out look around my eyes.

I love the additional uses for Bio Oil! Very neat and especially useful for consumers who found that the original use for bio oil didn't work for them! THANKS!

I've actually been using bio oil on my face for over a year as a daily moisturiser. I started using it because I started getting adult acne a couple of years ago and I it helped with acne scars. Now I'm in the clear, but I still use bio oil because it works so well as a moisturiser for me.

Just trying this out now... it makes sense why it would work (oil is a better carrier of active ingredients than anything with oxygen) but its really hard to remember to use it! URG! I'm just not disciplined to add it to my routine. Still trying though...
