6 Cocktails for St. Patrick's Day

Green beer may be fun to look at, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.  For Saint Patrick's Day, try one of these fun cocktails instead.  Sláinte!


Saint Pat's-tini


2 oz Vodka (eg. Exclusiv)
1/2 oz Creme de Cocoa
1 oz Irish Cream (eg. Baileys)
1/2 oz green Creme de Menthe

Shake first three ingredients pour into a chilled martini glass and then sink Green Creme de Menthe.  Garnish with a mint leaf and chocolate shavings.

Shamrock Smoothie

2 oz Melon Vodka (eg. SKYY)
1/2 oz Triple Sec
Splash of Orange Curaçao
juice of 2 limes

Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes, shake, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

La Poire Sparkling Shamrock

1 1/2 parts Pear-flavoured Vodka (eg. Grey Goose La Poire)
1/2 part St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
2 parts juiced cucumber
1/2 part lemon juice
1/2 part simple syrup
Lemonade or club soda
Mint leaves for garnish
Cucumber slices for garnish
Lemon zest for garnish

In a cocktail shaker, mix all ingredients.  Shake vigorously, strain, and serve in a highball glass with cubed ice and garnish with mint, cucumber slices and lemon zest.

Nutty Irishman


1 oz Irish Cream (eg. Baileys)
1 oz Hazelnut liqueur (eg. Frangelico)
1 oz cream

Combine all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker, strain, and serve in a shot glass or highball glass over ice.

Shamrocked Shooter

2 oz Melon liqueur (eg. Midori)
1/2 oz Whiskey (eg. Tullamore Dew Irish)
1/2 oz Irish Cream (eg. Carolans)

Combine all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker, strain, and serve in a shot glass.

Irish Frog

3/4 oz Melon liqueur (eg. Midori), chilled
3/4 oz Irish Cream, chilled

Pour melon liqueur into a shot glass, then slowly add the irish cream to float on top.
