7 Fall Food Recipe Ideas

So, it's September and summer is pretty much over. I know, I'm bummed out too. No more swimming. No more short skirts. As we move towards fall however, not all is lost. Because you know what comes with it? Amazing food. Um, first off - Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte (10th anniversary of this amazing beverage), YAY. Some of the best foods come into season in September. So to cheer you up I have 7 fall foods and a few recipes to help you realize that while summer is ending, September has tons of good stuff to offer.
#1 Apples

Curried pumpkin apple soup will warm you up on a chilly day and grilled cheese and apple makes for a quick lunch idea. Bonus! Try apple cider this fall: here's our recipe.
#2 Plums

Pork with sweeter fruit is one of my favourite flavour combos and plum, orange and almond cobbler is a great afternoon dessert for a windy Sunday.
#3 Tomatoes

Snap up fresh tomatoes at the end of the season and make this gorgeous, colourful salad or this pasta.
#4 Squash

Quinoa stuffed squash (right) is super healthy and doesn't skimp on taste. Baked squash pasta is excellent as a meal for one and can also be adapted for multiple plates.
#5 Figs

Figs are amazing additions to an appetizer menu. Prosciutto wrapped figs are always a fave or try a twist on bruschetta.
#6 Corn

Corn season is the best, amirite? Whether in a hearty salad or as a soup, it's tasty and definitely a fresh flavour.
#7 Pumpkin

Mmmmm. Pumpkin. 'Nuff said. Drink this pumpkin latte and eat this pumpkin pie.
What's your favourite fall flavour or dish?
