Ali's Pick: The Best Household Cleaning Products

I have a cleaning lady.  There. I admitted it out loud.  Her name is Karla, and aside from the time I discovered her crew using Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on my pots and pans, it's been a dream.  Though my German background dictates that my place should always be spotless from the sweat of my own brow, I decided a couple of years ago that as much as I enjoy that (and I do!) it would be far more rewarding to come home to a clean place after a long day's work and the knowledge that my laziness is helping someone else pay their bills.

Still, that doesn't stop my German from busting out every week to dust the shelves, scrub the mirrors or, - my favourite - the grout in the shower.  There are certain products that work so well I am honestly excited to use them.  Allow me to introduce you:
Ali's favourite cleaning products
1. Dyson DC23 Motorhead Vacuum Cleaner - it's loud, it's pricey but it's amazing.
2. Method Le Scrub - it gets the deep down grit and smells divine.
3. iQ Bathroom Cleaner - astonishingly good-looking and good smelling
4. Method Best in Glass - once again the scent is a winner and it works really well.  Can you tell I like my place to smell good?
5. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - the only salvation for white walls.  Nothing makes an otherwise clean place look dirty like scuffs on the wall.  With this, you just wet it with a bit of water, scrub the spot... and poof!
6. Greenworks All Purpose Cleaner - environmentally friendly, works well and inexpensive.  Win, win, win!
7. Norwex Anti Bacterial Microfibre cloth - the best cleaning cloth on the market, hands down.

Have you tried any of these?  Which are your favourite cleaning products?

I have to say that my fav is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - it now comes with a more abrasive side. I use that to clean my counters, walls, running shoes, you name it. I also am a huge fan of Method not only is it environmentally friendly the smell of the products are great. I use the Good for Wood Method for all my wood furniture - smells like baby powder which I know some may not like - but it just smells so fresh.

Before Mr. Clean branded the magic erasers for distribution in North America, my mom had already received a stack of its foreign-branded predecessors. For a while my mother swore by the product, cleaning high and low with it.

After doing some research recently, I learned that its functionality lies in its ability to buff away layers - kind of like sandpaper. Don't be fooled by its white, cuddly exterior! A young child once got skin burns all over his face because his mother used a magic eraser to wipe away paint.

So be careful how and where you use your magic erasers.

I have several Norwex cloths, and they are truly worth the investment. I have bought knockoffs which worked well for probably a year but the Norwex products are several years old and still in almost new condition.

I also love the Method line. They have a lavender surface cleaner that smells divine!
