All in One Skin Care Makeup

Who has enough time to worry about not only sunscreen and moisturizer but also foundation, skin brightening cream, blemish control, etc etc.

I have a solution for you! Its name is BBCream and it's the jack of all trades of the cosmetics industry. It functions in a variety of  ways but suggests a generally improved appearance. BBCream is also known as Blemish Balm Cream and it's one of Asia's more innovative products that has widely influeced many cosmetics companies like Bobbi Brown, M.A.C and Clarins. Blemish balm cream has been around for a while; originally developed for post-surgery patients with a need to cover up their scars while at the same time, being light enough to keep from reacting with their skin.

Tasha, Alexandra and Tammy become my models for the day and tried on some of the BBcreams I brought in. They gave some of their feedback to me:

Alexandra tried out the The Face Shop's Hydro Splash. This particular cream's main function (besides working as a foundation) is to moisturize and finish with a dewy look. It's a water based formula, to ensure  no breakouts happen; Perfect for sensitive skin! The BB Cream also promises to smooth out imperfections and porcelain-smooth skin.

Alexandra says that when she squeezed out a bit onto her hand, the formula seemed a bit greyish. With rubbing and patting into the skin though, the colour started to change and blend to match her skin tone. When she put the BBCream on the highlights of her face, you could tell that the foundation easily matched into her skin for a flawless look.

Here I'm showing a swatch of the Skin 79 on Tammy's arm, as the BB Cream did not show up as flattering-ly as she had hoped.

Tammy used Skin79 Super+ Beblesh Balm BB Cream Triple Function. Don't mind it's super long name, or the fact that it's konglish (Korean and English language mixed together). According to its website, this Skin79 BBCream acts towards anti-aging, and whitening your face. Not only that, but with included SPF and a matte finish, I daresay this is one multi-functioning cream!

From what Tammy told me, the BBCream didn't fair well with her tanned skin, which made her appear grey. If you are looking for a more tanned look, this BBCream may not be the best idea for you.

Tasha was reluctant to slather on the one-shade-suits-all The Face Shop Arsainte Eco-Therapy Super Repair BB CreamWith most one-shade-fits-all foundations, as Tasha pointed out, the colour turns out orange on her porcelain skin. However, as you can see from the above, this Eco-Therapy BBCream proves to blend easily into her pale skin. This BBCream contains SPF2 and it boasts that it will repair the skin of imperfections and damage. With one application, you can achieve hydration, nourishment and anti-aging effects!
There's no doubt that this product will be hard to find for purchase. Though you can find it largely online (ie Amazon.com, or even yesstyle.com), there are only a few select Asian beauty stores in Canada, with a low chance of having any of the BBCream mentioned above.

So I give you some alternatives of products that encompass if not some, but at least one of the many benefits of BBCream:

 1. Also one of Ali's Top Five FavesClinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15 is perfect to keep the hydration in your face, making it great for sensitive skin.

2. If you are looking for some anti-aging foundations, try Clinique's Dewy Smooth Anti-Aging makeup with SPF 15. According to a member's review, you can achieve flawless looking skin upon application!

3. MAC Studio Sculpt with SPF 15 Foundation: One of Tasha's favourites due to its SPF and moisturizing component.

4. CoverGirl Natureluxe Silk Foundation: This has long been popularized as a duplicate of BB Cream for its mild texture. This foundation is mixed with water for a lightweight feeling, with some added SPF.

These are just some of my favourites that I have found to be similar to what I use as BB Cream.
Have you tried BB Cream before? Have you found any duplicates that you would recommend?

@Takoda: the great thing about this is that it's light enough to not appear so cakey as you might think! But I'd recommend this for winter, when the paler complexion is more trendy. I've also noticed that when you put them on a highlighting areas, ie the nose, or cheekbones, you can get a brighter looking face, without such a heavy made up looking face.

I agree with GlamGal, thanks for writing this.I biggest problem when it comes to foundation is finding the right color for me. I never seem to get it right. Its either to dark, it make e look like a ghost, or it's to heavy and I look like a clown.
