Are Flared Pants Trendy Again?
Flared pants are back in the spotlight for Fall and we are loving the fresh take on the '90s style.
They were seen on Fall 2010 runways for top designers like Derek Lam (left), Rochas (centre), Balmain (right), Prada and 3.1 Philip Lim. They can be casual or classy and best of all, they are a much more figure-friendly trend than skinny jeans or *shudder* jeggings.
Now it's a gentle flare that's cool, only a bit wider than a bootcut - we aren't talking full-fledged hippie style here!
We love flared jeans on Salma Hayek, Heidi Klum and Kristen Cavallieri
Trendy Tip: Wear your flares with heels for mile-long legs.
Ready to splurge on flares? Try Stevie Dazed Jeans ($245 USD) from Mary Kate and Ashey Olsen's '70s inspired denim line Textile Elizabeth & James denim line.
For a more affordable, yet equally chic alternative, try The Gap Vintage Flare Jeans ($69.50 USD).
Are you convinced that flares are cool yet?

![]() | Ugh, please, some freedom from the skinnyjeans! I can't even get them off at the end of the day! (But they're too uncomfortable to sleep in LOL!) I'd be happy if the low-rise could take a hint and rise up a bit next. **yanks at belt** |
![]() | I agree, love GAP's version! |
![]() | I like the more modern flare-it's not so bell-bottom-ey. |
![]() | Uhhhh, I didn't realize they were actually out and have been wearing them all along *blush*. So yes, I think they are cool! A lot more wearable than skinnies for anyone larger than a size 2, so that automatically gets points in my book. |
