Beauty Talk: What Would You Do if All Your Makeup Disappeared?

There's been a fun little tag going on in the YouTube world called 'If All My Makeup Disappeared' and it's basically one of my worst nightmares. The premise is this: if you woke up one morning to find empty shelves and some evil makeup loving thief had robbed you of everything you hold dear, what would you re-purchase? I liked the idea of doing this article because we talk a lot about 'favourites' around here, but sometimes you gotta think about the products that you really can't live without. I think it forces you to reconsider all that you splurge on. I also think this I definitely need to start cutting back on my beauty hauling. Well, maybe. I'll try at the very least. Plus, I think it's a snapshot of what I consider basics and for anyone considering putting together their first makeup bag, this is a great starting point!

In any case, here are the products that I would without a doubt repurchase as a "necessity" if I had all my makeup taken from me. I want to open up the floor to you chicks, let me know what products are on your list!

#1 Foundation: With my uneven skintone, redness and acne, foundation is definitely a need for me. I chose to go with two of my favourite medium-heavy coverage foundations (at two different price points) that have a great finish but help my blemishes disappear.

1. Revlon PhotoReady Liquid Makeup (C$18.99)

2. Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation (C$49.00)

#2 Concealer: Under eye circles, red spots, pimples and all that good stuff. I gotta have me some concealer. Though I've used more expensive concealers, these two drugstore options are ones that I go back to time and time again.

1. Revlon PhotoReady Concealer (C$11.99)

2. Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer (US$6.00)

#3 Powder: I adore my blush! It gives me a little colour and life and helps contour my face. The same can be said for a good bronzer - I look for matte, long lasting powders. Of course to keep shine away, I need my setting powder, too.

1. TarteSmooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder (C$35.00)

2. Rimmel London Natural Bronzer (C$8.99)

3. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush (C$31.00)

#4 Eyes: When it comes to eyes, the number one product I could not go without would be mascara. I do love a great smoky eye though, so I would pick up replacements for my eye shadows and liners. I would go for a neutral palette and liners in basic blacks and browns.

1. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (C$32.00)

2. CoverGirl LashBlast Clump Crusher Mascara (C$9.99)

3. Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio (C$14.79)

#5 Lips: If I can only have one lip product (and I'm going to say that balms don't count), then it has to be a lip stain for long lasting pigment.

1. Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain (C$15.00)

2. Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer (C$8.49)

So let us know what products you would absolutely need to purchase if your entire collection was wiped out!

My bare bottom essentials would probably be undereye concealer, mascara, and tinted lip balm. I could handle being without the rest. The concealer can work on other problem areas (maybe not ideally, but in a pinch), while the tinted balm also doubles as a cream blush if needed.

But if I could pick up a few more items while I'm at it: eyebrow pencil, eyelid primer, and kohl eyeliner would be my next priority items.
