Before and After Makeup Transformation

A little while a go, I posted a forum asking chicks what they thought of the 'before and after' picture trend, because lately, I can't get enough of them! Seriously, my love for them is getting a bit out of hand, I will be featured on My Strange Addiction any time now.

If you haven't really seen or heard about this trend, here's the down low: basically girls post pictures of themselves with no makeup on at all and then, with all their makeup on. It doesn't sound like much but when you actually see the differences on some ladies, it's pretty striking. This is especially popular in Asia, where they have television shows centred around it.

Presenting myself on the Internet with no makeup on whatsoever, isn't something I like to make a habit of. I, like anyone, have my insecurities and flaws that I'm not too keen to show off. I spoke about my specific skin type in my Staff Skincare article and I mentioned that I have acne prone skin. I would consider my acne to be the thing I am most self conscious about.

I am a self professed concealer junkie and almost never go out without it on. But, I love you chicks and you ladies are always so flattering when I do post pictures so I thought I would dare to bare all my makeup for you!

So, there it is! On the left, is myself with no makeup on. On the right, I am wearing my everyday makeup look. This is typical of what I would wear everyday to work or on the weekends. Here's what I use:

Face
Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Primer
La Neige Snow BB Cream
Garnier Skin Renew Tinted Anti Dark Circle Roller
Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Foundation
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer - p.s. you guys, this is my absolute favourite concealer and it is dirt cheap, definitely a recommended product!
Revlon PhotoReady Concealer
Nars Blush in Torrid
Benefit Watt's Up Highlighter, I used this one in a highlighting tutorial a while back and since then it's been a go to, check out the tutorial here
Hissyfit Saving Face Buffing Powder

Eyes
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hr Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Free Love and Sin
Elizabeth Arden Smoky Eyes Powder Pencil in Smoky Black which I just used for my Snow White inspired makeup look, click here for the tutorial
Maybelline Illegal Length Fiber Extension Mascara

Lips
Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Coralista, coincidentally you can also win the same lip gloss this week

I need to admit that after I wrote this list down, I realized exactly how much I use on my face and I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it. Let me know what your thoughts on my before and after! Can you tell a major difference or just small details here and there? Would you ever do something like this?

I haven't taken a photo without my "face" in YEARS.

Kudos to you girlie!!

I love the look as it is so natural looking, healthy and fresh. Just small changes are made and your natural beauty has been brought out more.

Wow, cool article and it made me think of the products I use and it adds up quick! You're gorgeous with or without but since you asked it's really just small differences. With the makeup your skin is glowier (is that a word?) and more dewey but still very pretty without :)

Okay .. I'm sitting here shaking my head at you because the way you built up the suspense of baring your 'before' face .. and looking at your "before" face was a bit anti-climatic. If I looked like you I doubt I'd wear makeup. Really, I wouldn't bother. You look SO flawless naturally!! You have nothing to worry about!!!

As for the makeup list, you know what I gotta sit down and think about what I use before I comment on whether your list is big or not. I think it looks pretty normal. On days when I want to look 'done' I wear a primer, 3 different concealers (eyes, spots, hyperpigmentation), foundation, powder, blush, contour, highlight, eye base, eyeshadows, liquid liner for the top of the lid, creamy pencil liner for the bottom and tightlining, mascara, lipstick / lipstain...

Its great for a very natural.."I don't have any makeup on" look. Since you are concerned with your acne issues, that would be my first thought. The company SeneGence who specializes in long-wearing color cosmetics has come out with a new line of Acne skincare products that don't cost a lot, they are easy to use (you don't need tons of bottles of products) and they work without drying or messing up your skins ph. You can check it out online. My girls love what it has done for them and you will find you need less makeup to get that flawless look!
