New York Fashion Week Make-up Artist, Lauren Iavarone, spends her summers beautifying brides for their special day. In addition to the special beauty requirements of the Big Day, she reminds that it’s just as important to start your beauty planning ahead of time. Try these 4 tips to stay in control of your glowing look:
(1) Hire a Pro: Even though your best friend had the coolest eye makeup in high school, it doesn’t mean she should be handling your bridal beauty. You need someone with experience in HD photography and makeup application.
(2) Do a Photo Trial: Try several different looks with your makeup artist and take a picture of each. Keep in mind the picture quality from your photographer will be much higher. Wear a shirt that is the same colour as your wedding gown so you can see how the colours work together. Take a look at all the pictures and then pick your favourite look.
(3) Designate your Stash Keeper: ask a bridesmaid to hold onto your key makeup pieces for touch-ups on the wedding day. Lip colour, oil-blotting sheets and setting spray should top that list to keep you looking fresh all day long.
(4) Prepare for Waterworks: it’s an emotional day, whether you anticipate crying or not. Play it safe with waterproof mascara and use cotton swabs instead of tissue to whisk tears away at the corner of your eye for less risk of smudging.
