Britney Spears "Hold It Against Me" Video is Released
Director Jonas Åkerlund has also worked with Lady Gaga, and so it's not surprising that this video shows a much darker side to Brit than we've seen before.
It's hypnotically mesmerizing but I'll stop short of saying that I actually like it. Maybe it's because I find the lyrics to be a little insipid, or maybe I'm put off by her squinty-strange eyes in this video: I can't put a finger on it.
Since I can't decide, I'll leave it up to you: is this vid Fab or a Flop?

Oh dear, did Britney forget how to dance? I think the camera angle fools you into thinking she's actually busting a move. I watch her old videos (Slave 4 U) and wonder whatever happened to her dancing skills.
This video's so odd! | |
@Ali - thank you! You said exactly what I thought about the song - lyrics are ridiculous but the song is catchy. I kind of hate myself for admitting that, but there it is.
This video was really painful for me to watch. I did not like it at all... I found no originality in it, and it is annoying that she used it as a commercial. The only thing that was somewhat respectable was the costume design.
Despite the lyrics - which I actually laughed out loud the first time I heard them, I do like the song. As for the video, I completely agree with Ashley. It's a commercial.
I can't get over the amount of product placement in this video, ahh! But she is looking good, love to see her dancing again!
FAB! | |
On the bright side, at least her perfume line "radiance britney spears" and Makeup Forever both got some free advertising!
