Buy Design 54
Party like it's 1978.
Tickets are now on sale for one of the hippest fashion events of the year. Buy Design gives socially conscious guests occasion to glam up for an evening and raise money that benefits Windfall Clothing Service* – Canada’s only new clothing bank.
This year’s party, named Buy Design 54 and hosted by long-time Windfall enthusiast Adrian Mainella of CBC’s Fashion File, pays homage to the bygone era of disco in an over-the-top late-70s inspired soirée.
See and be seen at Buy Design 54
Revelers voyage past the peaking crowds and beyond the velvet rope, sipping highball cocktails and dancing amongst a melee of would-be Mick and Bianca Jaggers, wide-eyed Edies and Halston-clad ingénues.
Guests step into “The Factory,” Buy Design's hot Silent and Live Auction lounge, and are immersed into a re-creation of Andy Warhol’s famed haunt styled by Fashion Designer Marilyn Brooks and her team of Ryerson University students. The trendy set gravitate towards the must-see Fashion Installation, with mannequins draped in Canadian designer digs alongside throngs of Buy Design 54 T-shirts and must-take-home arty Warhol-ish Brillo cartons. Partying like it’s 1978, everyone cashes in on their 15 minutes of fame, bidding on one-of-a-kind experiences, chic products and luxurious services.
The event takes place at 8pm on Saturday April 26th in the Distillery District. Tickets are $75 each or get 6 tickets for the price of 5.
*Windfall Clothing Service, the evening’s beneficiary, is an award-winning charity that distributes more than $10 million (retail) worth of NEW clothing and other basic-needs items annually. Through partnerships with 96 social services agencies — from shelters for abused women and their children, to reception centres for refugees and supportive housing for disabled people — Windfall reaches out to the Greater Toronto Area’s neediest citizens.
