Buy/Borrow/Steal: The Handbag Edition
Don't we all need a bit of glamor in our lives? This summer, and going into fall, I am all about mixing up textures and 1950s throwbacks - all of course while being completely glamorous. A slouchy hobo bag, though big and practical, adds volume to your figure. A sleek leather or crocodile handbag is a chic alternative and demands attention.
On the Runway: In their Fall 2011 collection Bulgari (left, bottom corner) went wild with the animal theme, like this snake skin bag that features silver snake embellishment. Phillip Lim 3.1 (top, middle) gave us a more understated and classic option, shown in a chocolate brown here, it also unzips at the sides for more added space. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen recently released an accessories collection of vintage inspired crocodile and ostrich and alligator bags under their The Row (left, bottom corner) label.
Here are three different, very wearable options for a vintage leather handbag. However, you may notice that none of these bags have prices or brand names. One of these is by an expensive designer, one comes from a well known label and the other is an affordable brand. We want you to tell us which one you want to buy, which one you want to borrow and which one you want to steal!
You have until July 18th to leave a comment. We will then randomly choose one lucky commenter to receive a prize and we will also reveal the prices and the brands.

UPDATE! Thanks for playing with us on this Buy/Borrow/Steal: The Handbag Edition! We hope you've enjoyed it. Here are the prices and brands for all three bags, were you surprised?

I think #2 is the 'designer' bag by...Nine West? I would buy that, 'cuz its the my fav of the three and I'd want to keep it! I'd borrow #1, steal #3 and hide it real well so I don't have to give it back ;-) |
