Canada Day Long Weekend: Fun Cross-Canada Activities

This Canada Day Long Weekend, what's better than spending time with your family? This Canada Day feels extra special as the newlywed royals will be making a visit! Not to worry if you're not in Ottawa, there's plenty of other fun events going on across Canada.

Ottawa: Celebrate with the Royal Couple: Will and Kate have been married for two months now and they'll be making their way across Canada from June 30 to July 8, reportedly beginning their trip will on the East Coast and ending in British Columbia. On July 1, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be in Ottawa, more specifically at Parliament Hill celebrating Canada Day!

Vancouver: Canada Day At Granville Island
: Granville Island's huge Canada Day celebration includes a Parade, a truly Canadian Pancake Breakfast, an official Canada Day Ceremony, live jazz, performers, False Creek Ferry Ballet, and MELA! (a South Asian cultural extravaganza of song), traditional dance, Bollywood fashions, mouth-watering food, and more. It is happening from 8 am to Midnight at Granville Island.

Vancouver: Canada Day Burrard Inlet Fireworks Show
: Finish your night off with a fireworks extravaganza! Burrard Inlet's the 5th Annual Fireworks Show will be visible from the Downtown, West Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Vancouver's West Side. The fireworks will go from 10:30 pm to 11:00 pm.

Calgary: Prince's Island Park:The largest single festival in Calgary happens to fall on Canada day with crowds of 100,000+. Events that are happening includes national, regional, and local bands, roving performers, hands-on activities, games, crafts, food, and many more!

Toronto: Canada Day At Mel Lastman Square
: At 5100 Yonge Street, celebrate Canada's 144th birthday with music and a spectacular fireworks display. The evening starts with musical performances by Canadian bands and concludes with stunning fireworks choreographed to music. This celebration starts at 8:00 pm and ends at 10:00 pm.

Niagara Falls: Canada Day Celebrations
: Starting at 10 am there will be a parade that travels along Morrison Street in Niagara Falls and ends at the Optimist Youth Park. Celebrations will continue throughout the day with live bands and other entertainment like a Canadian Citizenship Ceremony and the Niagara Falls Lions Carnival. At night, there will be a spectacular fireworks display over the Falls.

Blue Mountain: The Village At Blue Mountain Celebration: Celebrate in the Village with free activities all day: street performers, live music, guided family hikes, gondola rides, splash fountain, scavenger hunts, and Movies Under The Stars.

Midland: Canada Day Celebrations: Enjoy Family Fun at Midland's Canada Day Celebrations for Canada's birthday! The day kicks off with a parade at 10:00 with events continuing all day. There will be Arts and Crafts and Children's Events, Face Painting, Magician, Musician, Juggler, Little Big Dig, Fireworks, and Fish Pond.

Sault Ste Marie: Roberta Bondar Park & Pavilion: Enjoy family entertainment and children’s activities. Opening ceremony begins at 2 pm, fireworks at dusk.

Montreal: Fun at the Old Port Returns: Canada Day will start with a bang with a parade, Old Port activities, and customary mega-cake!

I am so stupidly excited to see Will and Kate. I shouldn't be but I am. And chances are I'll have to wait in a massive crowd to catch the tiniest glimpse. There's also a stage set up for the concert in Ottawa tomorrow night.
