Pantene's new spokesperson is... not Bret Michaels
Earlier this week, we posted a teaser that Pantene was announcing a new spokesperson today on a live webcast with Stacy London. Speculations were swirling all week on Twitter as to who the new spokesperson would be. They had hinted it would be very different from past, so my hunch was a guy - or a muppet. As an April Fool's joke.
I was partially right. The webcast included Bret Michaels with his signature blond flowing hair/bandana combo who said he wished it was him but then they announced who the real spokesperson is going to be… you!
That's right. The people who brought you, "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" are offering the once in a lifetime opportunity to be their new spokesperson in a live TV ad that will air on May 25, 2010 on multiple channels including NBC and City TV, as part of one of the hottest shows of the season.
One woman will be selected from the online casting call to put Pantene to the test on live TV and will appear in the first reality national advertising spot alongside Pantene’s current spokesperson, Stacy London. She will also win the “Be the Rock Star You Are” experience from Bret Michaels, which will include tickets to one of his concerts this summer, first class airfare, a ride in Michaels’ tour bus, and backstage passes.

Upload a video of yourself to www.pantene.com/realitystar between April 2 - April 18th, 2010 telling Pantene why you should be the first reality hair star. Everyone will be able to vote for their favourite videos to help choose the winner and fan favourite videos will be chosen daily. All video submissions will be evaluated and 12 finalists will be flown to New York City for an in-person test shoot in May.
To be eligible:
• Applicants must complete an online registration form and submit a video entry no longer than one minute at www.pantene.com/realitystar
• The video entry must tell why you should be the first reality hair star and show your hair’s personality
• Applicants must add at end of video: “That’s why I am the first reality hair star!”
• Open only to female legal residents of the 49 U.S. & D.C. (excluding Maine) who, as of date of entry, are 18 years or older; and Canadian residents (excluding Quebec), who, as of date of entry, are the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside.
