1 - A Royal Wedding

If there is a single topic of conversation today, it's the news of Prince William's engagement to Kate Middleton - or Catherine as we're to call her now.  The papers, morning TV shows and blogosphere are awash with speculation about the date, the dress, and the drama, whilst women around the world sigh in romantic anticipation of sumptuous pictures and giddy details to come (men, understandably, are now mostly gone into hiding).  It's being billed by some as the Wedding of the Century and a much-needed distraction from the gloom of the worldwide recession.


2 - People Mag's Sexiest Man Alive 2010 is...

Ryan Reynolds! The Canadian (holla!) actor recently seen in The Proposal (do we sense a trend here?) will be appearing as superhero Green Lantern next year.  Apparently he prefers to sleep in the nude because, as he says:

"... if anyone breaks into your house, I can't think of anything more frightening than a naked 6' 3" man coming at you."

Correction: frightening - no.  Delicious - yes.  Too bad the he's already taken by the fabulous ScarJo.

3 - HP7: Deathly Hallows (pt 1) premiere

Canadian and American audiences are champing at the bit to see Harry Potter's 7th adventure, set to hit theaters this weekend. But what's making the biggest headlines in the last few weeks has been Emma Watson's new 'do.

Remember "The Rachel"?  Meet "The Emma".  Though it's quite a change from the sweetly frizzy mop we're used to seeing, we love Ms. Watson's new look, don't you?

All in all, it's been a pretty fab Hump Day all 'round.
