Chick Picks '09: Best of Makeup

If you’re a makeup junkie like some of us at ChickAdvisor HQ (*ahem*), you may have a containment problem.  The newest innovations in cosmetics have our makeup bags bursting at the seams... does this sound familiar?

ChickAdvisor members are savvy shoppers. If you’re looking for a recommendation on the perfect blush or concealer, you’ve come to the right place! What were your top picks in makeup for 2009?

Best Blush: Nars Orgasm Blush is a cult classic for a reason.  The peachy-pink glow leaves a radiant flush flattering to most skin tones.

Best Bronzer: Rimmel London Natural Bronzer scored as a cost-effective alternative to a high-end product.

Best Concealer: Benefit Erase Paste and Boi-ing tied for top honours.  You raved that the easy-blend formulas cover and brighten instantly.

Best Powder: You said MAC Studio Fix delivers flawless coverage with the versatility of a powder or foundation.

Best Foundation: Long-time Hotlist resident Bare Escentuals I.D. Bare Minerals was your pick for its light and natural look and wear.

Best Eye Liner: MAC Fluidliner and L’Oreal HiP Colour Truth Cream Liner tied for their easy application and smudge-free results.

Best Eye Shadow: You love MAC's highly pigmented eye shadows for their quality and variety.  The higher price point is well worth the result.

Best Mascara: CoverGirl's LashBlast Mascara got rave reviews from our Product Review Club for delivering dramatic, voluminous lashes.  The latest LashBlast (Length) looks promising, too.

Best Lip Gloss: Lancome Juicy Tubes are loved for the sheer colour and long-lasting shine.  C.O. Bigelow's Ultra Mentha Lip Shine also contends for top spot with a blast of fresh-breath feel for those 'iffy moments'.

Best Lip Balm: Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm - what's not to love?  This Hotlist topper works well and is so affordable.  'Nuff said.

Best Lip Liner: A classic neutral that compliments most skin tones, reviewers of Annabelle's lip liner in Spice had only love to share.

Best Lip Plumper: Lise Watier lovers will adore Plumpissimo Le Gloss for the rich colour selection and natural-plump result.

Best Lipstick: You praised Maybelline's SuperStay Lip Color for long-lasting wear and the variety of pretty shades.  Keep lips hydrated with a second layer of balm during dry months.

Best Nail Polish: Our last word goes to your perfectly manicured digits.  You praised OPI and Sally Hansen for their chip-free staying power and fun colours.

I have used Sally Hansen nail products for years. It is the only product, I find, that works great. They also have an amazing assortment of colours which is wonderful!!!!

Went out and FINALLY bought Nars Orgasm Blush. Will definitely try the Rimmel bronzer too. glad to see Annabelle lip pencil in spice...this has been a staple in my makeup bag for as long as I can remember!

C.O. Bigelow's Ultra Mentha Lip Shine is my favourite lip gloss. I love it in Coral Mint No. 1643. I just bought Bigelow Mentha Lip Cordial - Vanilla Cream Eggnog, part of their holiday collection. It's sparkly and smells so good!

Agree: Bo-ing, CG Lash blast, MAC studio fix, Rimmel bronzer and Bare Minerals.

Disagree: Erase paste (gross, smugy, oily), Nars (overhiped), L'oreal (not smooth!)

The rest are ok, but nothing to rave about.

Appreciate the recommendations though!
