First up, foundation! Foundation and I have a long, sorted history together. From the first CoverGirl Clean Oil-Control Liquid Makeup that stole my foundation virginity to my current one and only true love, Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup, I'm always on the hunt for that one that gives me the perfect blend of coverage and natural finish. If you chicks feel me, then you'll appreciate this Buying Guide of the top 10 best rated foundations from the community:
Have you tried any of these? Which is your favourite?

Ultimately I've been staying away from makeup because I don't like all the unknown chemicals they put into it. And the more natural products are always more expensive, so I'm kind of at an impasse. Thankfully I'm comfortable with a naked face, but for special occasions it would be nice to dress it up a bit. And sometimes it would just be fun to put a little colourful eyeliner on to make my eyes pop, I just don't want all the harmful chemicals involved.
I'm interested in trying the Maybelline Mineral Power Loose Powder foundation, the rest of them I'm not sure of. Definitely will not be spending over $20 on a beauty product like this though which I think you would go through quite fast. I have been wanting to try some kind of BB cream or foundation that has just enough coverage to blend in the redness around my nose and cheeks and make my complexion more even. The only foundation I ever tried was Photoready by Revlon I think, and it was great for my wedding day photos, but I don't like how masky it looks in person.
If you are looking for a great finish, try Olay CC cream. you use so little to get a great look, that the bottle will last a very long time, making it a very affordable product, despite the initial higher cost.
Really??? Ester Lauder Double Wear all the way! No turning back!
Really interesting to see the amount of times a Maybelline product was mentioned versus the higher-priced department store brands.
I have been using Clinique City Base Compact Foundation for over a decade. Recently I have tried a few different products, but none cover my sunspots quite as well. I need to buy more right awa y and it looks like some re-branding or re-packaging has happened and I'm a little nervous that my product is going to be gone. It seems like that happens all the time. The product I love gets discontinued. What will I do? Okay no worry yet. ;)
2 best I've found are Bobbi Brown Long Wear & Laura Mercier Moisture Supreme, set with NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder. Both, used with this talc-free powder, last all day with no fading, transferring, patchiness or flaking on my oily skin. The Moisture Supreme actually controls oil, as opposed to the Laura Mercier oily skin formula foundation, which is a terrible formulation. It's loaded with kaolin, which makes it look cakey upon application, and even worse throughout the day. It also did absolutely nothing to prevent oil breakthrough. Just made it look worse.

So much Maybelline! I like Maybelline for other things but all of their foundations I've tried have been too dark though I do like the dream matte powder(which I don't consider a foundation). Right now I love L'Oreal True Match and Covergirl TruBlend!
I was NOT a fan of the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. |
