Cocktail Challenge: Two Delicious Summer Drinks
It's hot, so why not make cocktails in the office? Miranda and I ("I" being Shannon), have decided to do a cocktail challenge so that you lovely ladies can learn how to make some delicious summer drinks. Just a little friendly competition going on in the office, but much more light-hearted than the bake-off we did a few weeks ago.
Once again, simple rules: we just had to come up with a cocktail that screamed summer and incorporated a yummy flavored vodka. Then we'd present it to the rest of the CA team to decide which cocktail they would rather drink this summer!
I decided to adapt the new Pinnacle Vodka's Kiss of Summer cocktail with a few of my own ideas.
Kiss of Summer
Here's what you'll need:
1. 2 oz Pinnacle Red Licorice Cherry flavoured vodka
2. Cherries for garnish
3. 4 oz Lemonade and a fresh lemon for garnish
4. Splash of club soda
5. 2 oz cranberry juice (or any other red coloured juice)
How To:
1. Mix the cranberry juice with some of the vodka, pour into the bottom of glass
2. Fill glass with ice
3. Mix lemonade with flavoured vodka and top off with club soda
4. Pour step 3 into the glass with cranberry juice and ice
5. Garnish with fresh cherry and a slice of lemon
Final Drink:
Miranda decided to go with a Mexican and Thailand inspired summer cocktail:
The Mexiland
Here's what you'll need:
1. 1 oz Skinny Girl Tangerine vodka
2. Splash of lemon juice
3. 4 fresh mint leaves
4. 1.5 oz Tamarind Concentrate
5. ½ oz Rum extract
6. 2 oz of simple syrup (this is just water and sugar - make it yourself!!)
How to:
1. Mix all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice, shake vigorously
2. Serve in sugar-rimmed frosted glass.
Final drink:
And here you have 'em! Which drink would you go for and who do you think won this challenge?

Gotta try both now. Can't decide. Thanks ladies!
@beautyinfinitum, I'm with ya there!
Both and I'll have seconds too ;)
@lovelydays, i wanted to try a cocktail recipe that was bold, and unique in flavour. The taste is refreshingly rich and not too sweet, not too sour. In fact the tamarind gives it just enough hint of sweet which goes very nice with the tangerine and mint. It was definitely interesting to try.
Hey Bren, yep it does cherries even though it called red licorice.
So impressed ladies! You guys did an awesome job! I think Miranda's looks especially fancy!
