Pantone recently released their top colour pick for 2012- a bold orange hue called 'Tangerine Tango'. We tried it out with some nail art and loved the results! Continuing our list of the top ways you can rock tangerine, we have some makeup that is sure to pack a punch! These shades are bright and eye catching- not for the faint of heart but done correctly make a fabulous statement.

We saw the runway rock Tangerine tones during fashion week

Cheeks

A universally flattering tip is to look for a blush that leans more towards peach than orange, giving a sun kissed glow- perfect for your 'staycation'! Apply blush normally, avoiding overapplication on the apples of your cheeks, and skip the contouring- it will be too close to your bronzer shade making you look overdone.

1. Smashbox Be Discovered Cream Cheek Trio (US$29.00)
2. The Body Shop Shimmer Wave in Bronze (C$22.00)
3. Benefit Cha Cha Tint Lip and Cheek Stain (C$36.00)
4. Stila Mango Crush Lip and Cheek Stain (US$24.00)

Lips

The most important part of wearing a tangerine gloss or lipstick is to look for the correct shade for your skin tone. An intense and bright shade looks good on darker skin tones, while a peachy-pink shade will be more flattering on fairer skin.

1. Bobbi Brown Sheer Color Lip Gloss in Citrus (US$23.00)
2. Sephora Summer Harmony Gloss (US$12.00)
3. Lime Crime My Beautiful Rocket Opaque Lipstick (US$16.00)
4. Hard Candy Plexi Gloss in Honey Do (US$3.86)
5. Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti (C$8.00)
6. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Beta (US$13.00)
7. Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain and Balm in Flame (US$7.19)

Eyes

The idea of orange eyeshadow may seem questionable but they are ways to work it out. Sheer shadows will tone down the orange look but if you have a darker skin tone, an opaque orange shade will look striking!

1. Make Up Forever Eyeshadow in #18 Tangerine (US$19.00)
2. Chanel Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Tigerlily (C$30.39)
3. MAC Eyeshadow in Orange (C$18.00)
4. Make Up Forever Aqua Cream in #10 Orange (C$25.00)

1. Nyx Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Orange (US$4.99)
2. Nyx Single Eyeshadow in Tropical (US$5.00)
3. Nars Mediteranee Eyeshadow (US$33.00)
4. The Body Shop Eye Definer in Burnished Amber (C$11.00)

Would you wear tangerine makeup or is it too O.T.T. (over the top) for you?

I love all of the products in the first image, they seem like pinks with orange undertones. So much easier to incorporate into everyday wear! An orange eye look seems a little too much :P

I absolutely love bright trends! Makes me feel like spring / summer is right around the corner, even though we're barely getting our first taste of winter! :-)

I love rocking a peachy orangey lip! It suits me best... I wouldn't wear wear a wash of tangy orange on my lids. I would def' mix it up with another flattering colour, like bronze. Tangerine and Bronze "smokey eye" looks awesome!

I've always wanted to do a tangerine lip, but I don't think that I could pull it off...I have pale skin with cool undertones, dark brown hair, and really small lips! :(

Tangerine is a pretty colour for nail polish, clothing and cheeks. However, eyes and lips not so much for me. The tangerine will bring out the yellow in your teeth. Sticking to a cooler shade of lipstick is so much better for brighter, whiter teeth. :)

I love this trend! I love bright colors. For those that say it doesn't work on them makeup wise, I'm sure it would look great on toes with a pedicure ;)

With a tan, maybe. Otherwise you look like a freak.

I can't do orange makeup... I'm not a hug fan of orange in the first place, but it looks kind of "off" on me unless it is a peachy shade. It does look really fun though and I did just get an orange nail polish... who knows, I could grow into it. Maybe?
