Cover Girl Battle: Katy Perry vs. Nina Dobrev vs. Zooey Deschanel
I love critiquing magazine covers. Breaking down the shoot, taking stock of hair, makeup, and designer clothes, and the art of fashion photography? Total binge-worthy pleasure. I can look at photos of models for hours and not get bored.
September is the biggest month of the year for magazines, so publishers are bringing their A-game with some super cool spreads. Let's talk about them, shall we?
#1 Katy Perry for Elle UK Magazine

#2 Nina Dobrev for Cosmopolitan

#3 Zooey Deschanel for Marie Claire

First and foremost, dem brows Ms. Perry. I want. The grey tweed has an odd peplum thing happening but I'm too distracted by those brows and that hair to care. The second outfit has a vintage feel and a good choice for Katy. I'm liking the hat, too.
Nina is a bombshell here. Check the wind-blown hair and houndstooth mini! Sexaii. Then she totally flips it and goes all demure and sweet in a printed collared dress with a milkmaid's braid. I usually hate Cosmo covers but I will say that it's tasteful and the balance between the cover and the spread makes it quite chic and high fashion.
Zooey is all rock n' roll glam on the cover of Marie Claire. I adore the fishnets and smoky eye. Inside, she pulls off this printed dress (are we sensing a trend?) in her usual quirky-cute way.
I'm surprising myself and giving Nina the win here. Who is your fave cover girl?

I think Katy won. Zooey looks too awkward in her second picture...
I love Ms. Katy Perry but dang Nina looks awesome from head to toe on the cover.
Zooey!! | |
I really like Zooey on the Cover, but I like both shots of Katy Perry, so Katy takes the win for me on this one.

I am going to say Nina as well, Zooey although she is cute has a very 'weird/quirky' vibe to her for whatever reason and I do not care much for her fashion choices. Katy, not her best cover I've seen that's for sure |
