Daily Dose of Adorable: Real Life 'The Notebook' Couple
We've all seen, loved and bawled our eyes out over The Notebook. And in case you haven't or need a refresher, or perhaps you just need a bit of Gosling injected into your day, here's a quick clip:
Sparks notes version: After a long love affair, the couple grows old together and eventually Rachel McAdam's character develops dementia. Ryan Gosling's character is completely devoted to her and visits her every day. He reads her their story as a couple just so she can have a few moments of lucidity.
Now, cue the tears...
Today's Daily Dose of Adorable is about the sweetest 'real life' The Notebook couple: Jack Potter, 91, and his wife Phyllis, 93.
Phyllis has dementia and Jack visits her everyday to read from a journal where he documented their inside jokes, life events and stories.
Jack and Phyllis met at an army dance. On October 4th, he wrote in his journal that he had danced with a very nice girl and that he hoped he would see her again. Sixteen months later, they were married and they recently celebrated their 70th anniversary.
If that isn't love, I don't know what is!
