Dirty Laundry Secrets
Sunlight came by our office last week to demonstrate how their latest detergent, Sunlight Deep Clean cleans better than the rest. Our first thought? Sure, that's what they all say. But they brought muffins and so, pacified by chocolate, carrot and blueberry we agreed to listen.
What they told us gave us the willies. We all trust our laundry detergent to remove stains and leave our clothes smelling fresh and clean, but we also assume it's clean deep down right? Apparently that is not the case. In a test comparing Sunlight Deep Clean and several other popular top selling brands, the other detergents left bacteria, body oils and other grime within the fabric of the clothes. Think those undies are clean because you washed them? Think again.
So what makes their Deep Clean line better? Sunlight Scientist Mark Granja explained that it's all in the combination of soaps and cleaners they use. It just makes clothes cleaner. The end.
Now on to the really gross stuff. Sunlight conducted a little survey and discovered some shocking laundry habits:
14% of women have worn the same socks for several days in a row
31% of respondents wait until jeans are visibly dirty before they are washed
21% have used perfume or deodorant to mask the smell of clothes that weren't fresh
27% wash bedding only once every few weeks
Brace yourself for the worst one! 1% of women surveyed wait until underwear are visibly dirty before they are washed!
After reading these dirty laundry secrets, we were anxious to rush home and do the laundry. You?
Admit: Are you guilty of any dirty laundry habits?
