D.I.Y. Beauty: Anti-Oxidant Cranberry Face Mask

Here at CA HQ, Thanksgiving has already come and gone, but that doesn't mean we're giving up on all the goodness that is turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. In fact, since U.S. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, it's kind of appropriate! We're still gorging on leftovers actually, and since we have some cranberry sauce in the fridge, we thought it a good idea to smear it all over our faces... seriously.

Why, you ask? There is a method to this madness, I promise.

Cranberry is a natural antioxidant which means that this super food is capable of fighting wrinkle-causing free radicals. Cranberries are also filled with skin care miracles vitamin A and vitamin C, which help brighten skin and aid in collagen production. Also in this D.I.Y mask is honey, one of the most amazing natural skin treatments. Honey is a powerful antioxidant, anti-bacterial (natural pimple fighter!), and is very moisturizing - seriously, what can't honey do? Lastly, adding in plain yogurt benefits skin by adding enzymes and oils to the skin, working as another natural moisturizer. Summed up, this 100% natural D.I.Y facemask is all-in-one skincare from the Thanksgiving gods.

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon of honey
6-7 crushed cranberries (note: get them fresh, not canned!)
1 teaspoon of plain yogurt

Pro Tip: For an exfoliating mask, add oatmeal to the mix!

Directions:

1.Combine all of the ingredients.
2.Apply to a clean face in circular motions, avoiding the eye area.
3.Leave the mask on for 15 minutes, then rinse it off gently with warm water.

@ Brittany Gallinger, I'm also expecting. You can eat honey as long as it's pasteurized.

@ CA, love the idea. Thanks!

Thanks, will have to try. Hope I don't turn into a zombie and eat my face afterwards though... lol.
