DIY Beauty: Homemade Scrubs from Toner
Last week we gave you an easy DIY for a homemade toner. Hopefully you've been loving the toner and the glowing skin you're getting from it! The recipe makes enough for a small bottle with a little leftover, so if you're looking for an easy way to use up what's left, why not try a scrub?
This scrub is wonderful for your face, but I also suggest using it on your hands for dry winter-chapped skin. It's a nourishing and softening scrub but the added ingredients from your toner also means it will help treat oily and blemish prone skin. Feel free to use this as a mask too: just leave it on for about 10 minutes after lightly rubbing in and then rinse off.
What you'll need: Honey, Sugar and Your Toner!
I used 3-4 tbsp of honey, around 2 tbsp of sugar and about 1 tsp of toner. You can play around with the proportions depending on how grainy you want your scrub. I usually like mine to be thicker and to have a lot of beads to really get my skin exfoiliated. Those with sensitive skin may want to use less sugar.
This will make one small container or bowl of scrub.
Step 1: Sugar and Honey
Mix these two together, adding more or less depending on the consistency and amount of the scrub desired.
Step 2: Add Toner
Depending on how thick you want your scrub, add anywhere from two to 1 tsp of toner (or more) to your scrub.
That's it! You've got yourself a scrub all ready to go. Store in airtight container in fridge or use right away.
