DIY Facials: Warming Oat & Honey Mask Recipe
As the temperature drops outside my skin becomes drier and drier. I use this easy face mask in the cooler seasons to warm my skin and keep it hydrated.
4 Tbsp rolled oats (Quick or Regular, but not Instant)
3 Tbsp plain yogurt
1 Tbsp honey
1/2 Tbsp warm water
Combine oatmeal and water in small bowl and heat in microwave for 15-20 seconds. Mix honey and yogurt into the warm oatmeal until the paste looks smooth.
Massage onto your face and leave for 5-7 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
Benefits: Oatmeal cleanses and moisturizes while the small flaked texture gives gentle exfoliation as you massage it onto your skin. Honey is a humectant (ie. attracts and retains moisture) with anti-microbial properties and Yogurt has anti-bacterial properties - both ideal for cleansing.
Have you tried an Oatmeal-based mask before? What was your experience?
