DIY Kid Friendly Craft Ideas: How To Make A Snowglobe

Any excuse to play with glitter is fine by me! Especially when that excuse also includes a one of my all time favourite things: snowglobes. As a child I used to love snowglobes- they're cute, fun to play with and with this DIY tutorial, you'll be able to create any kind of snowglobe you want!

Snowglobes are the perfect kid friendly craft because they require little time, don't require any extensive crafting skills and when finished, are something they can enjoy for years to come!

Here's what you'll need for this craft:

A glass jar
Snowglobe filler (i.e. toy)
Hot glue gun
Water
1 tsp Glycerine
Glitter (I suggest using a fine, crafting glitter)

Step 1: Create Your Filler

I swear I'm not into My Little Pony. Really, I'm not. Ok, that was a lie. I love My Little Pony; so for my snowglobe filler, I'm using one of my favourite toys! Hot glue gun your filler of choice right side up, to the inside of the jar's lid. Make sure to position your toy in the middle so the jar can close. Hot glue can get, well, hot, so be careful!

Step 2: Fill Jar

Fill your jar with water to the top, leave a little space for adding the next ingredients. Pour in about a tsp of glycerine (available at most drugstores). Next, pour in about 1 tsp or so of glitter, this step may require the steady hand of an adult. Feel free to add more glitter if you wish, or lots more if your kid is anything like me.

Step 3: Finished!

Screw the lid onto the jar. Turn upside down and give it a shake to watch your glitter whip around! If you notice that you didn't add enough water, simply remove the lid and pour in a bit more. This craft also makes a perfect homemade gift!

Keep crafty chicks!

Oh wow, I didn't realize how easy this is! My daughter was always asking for a Disney snowglobe but I didn't want to spend $30 . Should have done one of these! Thanks for the tip - I'll definitely try this :)

It's ok @amyknows my new snowglobe is sitting on my desk right now and I can't stop playing with it.

Also- that's not the only My Little Pony toy I own.
