Edgy Trend: Double Denim
Ralph Lauren, Hermès, Chloé and Rag & Bone are just a few of the design houses jumping on the Double Denim bandwagon for spring. Even Celebs like Heidi Klum, Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and Zac Efron are doing denim ‘squared’ proud.
(clockwise, from top left) Urban Renewal Boyfriend Chambray Shirt ($48 US), Oak Drape Denim Vest ($68 US), Singer 22 Equipment Western Top ($178 US), GAP Chambray Shirt Dress ($69.50 US), Hudson Collin Skinny Jean ($143 US), AG Malibu Crop ($150 US); pair these looks with a simple white tank such as the 39 SIXTYONE Jersey Racerback ($37 US)
Ripped, torn, patched or plain – this look is clearly all the rage, and no matching tones required. Designers are proving that anything goes when it comes to denim. The button-up is just the beginning. Prepare to see vests, blazers, rompers, tanks, purses and even shoes.
Are you daring enough to try it? Or do you think this is one look that should have retired with Donna Martin?

I don't think I could wear a complete denim outfit. I love denim short shorts, mini skirts, and a nice unique pair of denim pants.
I'm a big fan of the denim button up shirts but I don't think I'd pair it with denim on the bottom. And I don't know if I could ever properly prepare myself for denim tanks and shoes!!! Eek!
Ya, I could see it as a romper..
Agreed! However, i am all for a sexy denim romper. A little bit country, but totally cute!
It's just tooo much denim! I think I would feel tacky trying to pull it off.
Eww.. Not a fan of the "demin androgynous look" :P
I'm going to take a pass on this one. It's definitely not an easy look to pass off unless you are either a model or a hillbilly. Best of luck to those who attempt it though! |
