Favourite Christmas Movies Round Up
Christmas day was made for cuddling up and watching movies. Nothing is open, you're stuffed with all sorts of delicious foods and all you want to do is relax. So pop in a DVD, settle down on the couch, gather that blanket (or snuggie or perhaps even a Forever Lazy?) with someone near and dear to you and chill with ChickAdvisor's staff picks for holiday movies!
Claire's Picks:
How the Grinch Stole Christmas: The original cartoon version is short, sweet, and 100X better than the live-action version.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: I saw this movie at an impressionable time in my life (I also loved Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, for what it's worth), and it's just one of those movies I can't get tired of seeing.
It's A Wonderful Life: This is a movie I rolled my eyes at as a teen, but when I started my own family I finally "got" it and now I cry every time I watch it.
Michelle's Picks:
Troop Beverly Hills: Great story about family and friends with lessons learned. Not exactly a Christmas movie but a movie my mom, nieces, and girlfriends enjoy watching together during the holidays.
Eloise at Christmastime: My niece, mom and I love getting together and watching Eloise at Christmastime. We love laughing at Eloise's mischief and fantasizing about living at The Plaza!!!
Mandy's Picks:
Love Actually: I've watched it every year since it came out! It's such a sweet movie to cuddle up in during the holidays.
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure: A great movie to watch with your friends and family. It's silly, funny and almost nostalgic. Be excellent to each other and PARTY ON DUDES!
Ali's Picks:
Elf: If you have a thing for Will Farrell (as I do), this never gets old.
Home Alone: This just reminds me of being a kid. I don't care if anyone agrees with me on this on or not because I think it's a classic. I recently saw it again and it was just as good as I remembered.
Alexandra's Picks:
To Grandmother's House We Go: I have a thing for vintage Mary Kate and Ashley movies; they remind me of Christmas with my cousins when I was younger- nothing like bonding over the Olsen twins!
The Muppets Christmas Carol: I love, love, love The Muppets and after this year's huge blockbuster, I'm definitely looking forward to some old school Muppet fun.
200 Cigarettes: This one is totally underrated in my book- it has an awesome cast and the premise is quirky and fun. It centers around a group of people all trying to get to a New Year's Eve bash, also, it's set in the 80's so that's a huge win in my book.
Shiori's Picks:
A Charlie Brown Christmas: I love pretty much any movie where characters break into song and dance, but Charlie Brown has that extra special something to be a true classic.
Bridget Jones's Diary: This is my "movie you always seem to watch during the holidays". I think I've seemed this countless times but I still think the story is sweet but hilarious at the same time.

I LOVE The Muppets Christmas Carol! That's a classic in my family. I've already watched it once this season (and by that I mean, like, beginning of November) but I think I will watch it again tomorrow for Christmas Eve! Elf is also another classic. Hardly gets any better. | |
