Getting to Know You: Jo Rivard
England's loss is our gain! Charming Brit Joanna Rivard is a recent addition to the Toronto scene. She brings with her knowledge of the Lost Arts of tea parties and letter-writing (remember that, from the pre-Crackberry era?). This foodie keeps the international flair in our restaurant section, and always has her eye on the next adventure.

What is your nickname, and how did you get it?
Jo
I used to get called fish face and thunder thighs in school. Kids can be cruel. The therapy seems to have paid off though.

What occupies your spare time?
Jo
I play the piano (but only when no one’s home), drink large lattes with my husband at our favourite coffee shop, and ride my bike slowly around the neighbourhood (preferably downhill).

Confession time - who is your celebrity crush?
Jo
Bono. The man has soul.
*Editor's note: we agree!
ChickAdvisor
...and your fashion Icon?
Jo
Audrey Hepburn.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Jo
In a small Parisian apartment, with an old camera, a cool bike (not a tandem) and the lovely husband.
ChickAdvisor
Yes, lovely husbands are an absolute must!
Highlights from Jo:
Authentic British Eats
* Pick a pub that does the name justice
How to Plan Your Best Backyard Bash
* Fresh new ideas for outdoor entertaining
British Cuisine: Eton Mess
* A perfectly horrible name for a perfectly decadent dessert
