Golden Globe Awards 2013 Red Carpet Recap + PHOTOS
So the Golden Globes happened. Funny ladies Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted and a whole bunch of shiny awards were given out.
But let's get our priorities straight and get right to what matters the most: the Red Carpet.
Best Dressed of the Night
Alexandra's Choice: Anne Hathaway (Best Supporting Actress/Musical)
Anne looks like an ethereal ice princess in this simple yet elegant Chanel design. The streamlined structure shows off her long lean figure perfectly.
Claire's Choice: Marion Cotillard
This dress might not win everyone's heart, but the lush colour and low-key accessories make Marion's Christian Dior gown more than memorable.
More Red Carpet Bests
Taylor Swift, Julianne Moore (Best Actress/Made for TV), and Naomi Watts strike bold colour statements
Tina Fey, Katherine McPhee, and Kerry Washington in simple colours yet elegant styles
Brash reds and corals from Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lawrence (Best Actress/Comedy winner), and Claire Danes (Best Actress/TV Drama)
Trend Spotting
We had a bit of a scuffle at ChickAdvisor HQ deciding on some of these styles...
Sheer panels and cutouts from Carla Gugino, Nicole Kidman, and Emily Blunt
Nudes & Neutrals from Amy Adams, Amanda Seyfried, and Isla Fisher
Lifetime Achievement honoree Jodi Foster, Sofia Vergara, and Thandie Newton got blingy
So we all know that Helena Bonham Carter wears these get-ups just for the fun of it but at least she sported the best accessoire of the night, agreed? Zooey Deschanel and Julia Louis-Dreyfus also wore full skirts.
Thigh-high slits from Lea Michele, Heidi Klum, and Eva Longoria
Love it or Hate it?
We love the colour, but Jessica Chastain (Best Actress/Drama) needs to have a serious chat with her seamstress about that baggy business on the top. Gorgeous suit, Amy Poehler, but is it red carpet-worthy? And Olivia Munn, well -- let's just say we did not see eye to eye about her.
Lena Dunham (Best Actress/TV Comedy) and Kate Hudson's choices were the two dresses we disagreed most strongly about. Jennifer Lopez's sheer number was sexy as heck, but it's a little much wethinks.
Worst Dressed
We adore Rachel Weisz, Debra Messing, and Giuliana Rancic. Just not their black widow outfits.
Halle Berry, Sienna Miller, and Lucy Liu's choices would have been so much better without the patterns, no?

@Midnightsun - I agree, Lucy's hair looked great!
My favorite outfits of the night were Marion Cotillard (minus the gold shoes), Naomi Watts, and Amy Poehler. I would absolutely love Kate Hudson's outfit if she wore her hair up, and I would like Nicole Kidman's if it was on somebody a bit younger/edgier (no offense Nicole!)
Anne Hathaway and Isla Fisher...Very beautiful dresses
Anne Hathaway, Kerry Washington, Tina Fey and Jessica Alba all looked flawless! I love that Kerry Washington and Tina Fey went for a mid-calf length as opposed to the traditional long gown - I thought they looked so elegant, yet modern
i liked Marion and Naomie
emily blunt! | |
I really loved Jennifer Lawrence's dress for the colour and fitted construction with a little detail in the chest draping. As well as Nicole Kidman's stylish black and studded dress that could only be McQueen. But lots of ladies looked lovely!
Lots of great looks! My two favourites of the night were Taylor Swift and Sofia Vergara, beautiful.
I loved Jessica Alba's!
Definitely Anne Hathaway! |
