Halloween DIY Tutorial: Candy Corn Nail Art

Confession- I love candy corn. I'm generally a fan of all candies but right around this late October/November time, I get cravings for the sweet, syrupy taste of candy corn! One of the things I love about candy corn is the colour combination. Yellow, orange and white look so fresh and fall like together, so I thought, why not try it on nails? Just in time for your Halloween celebrations, we've got a Candy Corn Nails Tutorial for you!

Step 1: Apply your base coat. We used Mary Kay Top and Base Coat (C$10.00).

Step 2: Paint your entire nail in a base coat of white. We used Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in 'White Tip' (C$2.00). You'll most likely need to paint two coats of this colour.

Step 3: Paint one third of your bottom nail in yellow. We used O.P.I. Nail Lacquer in 'The "It" Color' (C$11.00). If you paint a little more than necessary, don't worry about it- you'll be covering this up with another layer.

Step 4: Across the middle of the nail, using your nail polish brush horizontally, apply a layer of orange. We used Precision Nail Lacquer in 'Call Me Pumpkin' (C$6.00).

Step 5: Apply your top coat and you're all set to go!

Happy Halloween! Have you picked out your costume yet?

Ha I wondered if people thought I looked a bit odd having only the one hand candy corned. I think its a great fun look though and who doesn't love festive nails.

Love this! I'm doing it today.

You could also paint green, red and white horizontally with a tiny paint brush for a candy cane idea?

@takoda I'll resist the urge! Hahaha

This look is definitely super easy to do and switch up the colours and presto you've got an Easter egg look ;)

Oh, I love this look! I don't usually dress up for Halloween as I'm generally playing chaperone with a few other parents as we walk our gang of ghouls down the neighborhood streets, but I might try these nails.
