Halloween Nail Art Round Up
What's better than scaring yourself silly and eating huge amounts of candy? Nothing. However, when you get past the age of about 13, apparently it's no longer "cool" to come to work or school dressed in costume for Halloween.
Ugh. Grown ups, right?
Though it's tempting to show up to work all decked out in your best zombie costume, it may not be appropriate. While you won't necessarily get to dress up this Halloween, it doesn't mean you can't still get in the Halloweeny-fun spirit. So, why not show Halloween some love with a cute and fun manicure?
Blood Splattered Nails: This Dexter-inspired nail art is gory but kind of cool, no? Plus, it's deceptively easy!
Evil Eye (from Illamsqua): All you need for this mani is a dotting tool!
Candy Corn: We created this simple design last year for Halloween and loved the fall colours. If polish isn't your thing, try Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in the How Corny (mini candy corns are so adorable!) print.
Sparkly Halloween Design: Orange glitter with a black nail art pen makes for a cool detailed look.
Gradient Nails: I like that this one isn't only for use on Halloween. The deep army green colour is great for this time of the year and can be Christmasy, too.
Haunted House: A little elaborate and challenging, but if you can pull it off, so worth it.
Minx Nail Professional Nails in Crazy Skulls, Halloween Faces: Minx manicures are done at salons for US$45-$55 and are a favourite among celebs. The detailed styles are unique and stand out. Check out their site here for more information.
Kiss Nail Dress: Available here for C$10.99, Kiss Nail Dress stickers come in a few different limited edition Halloween style. I love the colour combo of yellow and orange.
Mummies: Wrap some bandages with a nail art pen or thin brush the use a dotting tool on the eyes for a cartoon mummy.
Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in Patch-O-Lanterns: For those of us without a steady hand, a nail sticker is a simple mani option!
Skulls: I would actually wear these out of the Halloween season as well! I like that they can be pulled off by chicks with both shorter and longer nails.
Spiders and Webs: Small stickers or decals on nails are easy to apply but look like they took way longer. I'd like to see this one done up 3D style, too.
Blood Drips: This one comes straight off the runway from Prabal Gurung's Spring 2013 show. It's fashion forward and timely for the season.
Vampire Fangs, Spooky Night Sky (from Illamasqua): I think Twilight must have inspired these two designs. They're both a bit eerie but also pretty cute. For the starry night sky, we suggest trying this mani tip.
Which one of these manicures has caught your eye?

I don't usually do anything special for halloween manicure-wise but I really like a lot of these, especially the vampire fangs and the blood drips. | |
