Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

I don't know about the rest of you but here in T.O we are having some silly amazing weather. It makes it easier than ever to feel thankful this weekend.

When I look at the past year a lot has happened.  I finished my degree, we launched our redesign, published a new video series, bought our condo (and redecorated it) and barely stopped to breathe.  It's been tough to keep up with my friends but somehow they have stuck by me and been absolutely amazing and supportive.  I really don't deserve you guys!

One of my dearest friends had us over at the cottage for the latter half of last weekend.  A break I really needed!  The cottage, (which belongs to her inlaws) is decorated with cherries everywhere.  Cherry wallpaper, cherry bedsheets, cherry plates, coasters, pictures and of course, cherry bathroom towels.  Needless to say, coming up with a thank you gift for the weekend was pretty easy. I wasn't about to contribute to the decor overload, so it had to be a cherry pie!

My Mother is the best pie maker in Winnipeg (trust) and taught me to make some of her special recipes.  My crust doesn't compare to hers and I of course trashed the kitchen in the process, but this afternoon I made a cherry pie for my friends to share with their family at the cottage.

Those little blobbies on the bottom rack are the left over pie dough and filling so I could see what it tasted like.  Whatever, it'll taste the same!

It's probably not going to be the best cherry pie but it's a small thing I can do to show that I appreciate them.   Next I will show my appreciation of Alex by letting him clean up the kitchen!

What are your Thanksgiving weekend plans?
