Hot Trend: Bensimon Sneakers
I have a soft spot for trendy sneakers, so when I hear about trendy AND French sneakers, my ears really perk up! After all, the French know style, as did Princess Diana, Jane Birkin, and Brigitte Bardot - all of whom adopted Bensimon sneakers as a style staple.
Bensimon sneakers were launched in the 1970s as a "disposable shoe for French women". Head to France and you will see that these are a weekend favourite with local hipsters. We got a sneak peek at the Fall 2010 collection and it includes a fun update on the original designs with floral and plaid prints.
They are available at The Bay, Gravity Pope and Little Burgundy in Canada, and Endless.com, Piperlime, and BensimonUSA in the US.
