Here's how to get the look:
Step 1: Using a hairbrush, smooth your hair into a high ponytail on the crown of your head or just below the crown. Secure with an elastic hairband
Step 2: Add volume by teasing small sections of your ponytail at a time. If you have thick or curly hair, you may want to bypass this step.
Step 3: Wrap small sections of hair around the hairband at a time to create a full bun. Pin each piece as you go. It's best to start with the pieces at the front.
Step 4: Hairspray, hairspray, hairspray.
Are you wearing the Ballerina Bun or is it time to move on?

![]() | oh my gosh Becky, were you thinking "buns" as in "bums"? Hahaha You're hilarious! I actually can't stop laughing right now! |
![]() | Great hair do for those lazy days, late days and "I-forgot-to-wash-my-hair" days. Love buns so much I have been wearing this hairstyle quite often nowadays. |
![]() | This is my go-to hair when my hair seems unmanageable (which is quite often). I think it's really cute on a lounge-y night in watching movies or it can be quite elegant when paired with a daring shade of lipstick! |
![]() | I guess strictly speaking these aren't actual ballerina buns, more like "inspired by ballerinas" buns! |
![]() | So the mainpage says "ballerina bun: how to". I think "what exactly do ballerina buns look like? any different from the "buns" you get from doing pilates, yoga or other forms of exercise??" |
![]() | Agreed, I love SJP's flower too! |
![]() | I haven't had a cut in, oh, about 10 months so my hair is always in a bun or a ponytail. But I think that the former always looks more chic! |
![]() | These buns look so elegant! I love how SJP's flower - so cute! |
