How Your Day at Camp Can Change Kids' Health For Keeps

Ask anyone who has had the opportunity to attend a summer camp and they'll tell you about the great crafts, games, campfires, singalongs, new skills, and fun in the outdoors they enjoyed. Most of all, they'll tell you about the new friends they met and lasting memories they created.

We recently told you about a special fundraiser happening in Toronto this September, and it's all about taking the best parts of camp and putting them to the best possible use. The Canaccord Genuity Great Camp Adventure benefiting SickKids is raising money for research and patient care specifically for children. This all-day, challenge-by-choice event features an up to 20-km walk through Toronto neighborhoods with fun camp-themed pit stops along the way and festivities at the finish line for all ages.

Many of us have wonderful summer camp memories and would like nothing better than to help these deserving children grow healthy enough so they can enjoy a camp experience of their own one day. That's why we're sending a team from ChickAdvisor to The Great Camp Adventure, too!

Want to come along? Registration is now open - just click the image below to get started! We'll try not to hog all the s'mores.

Leading up to the event, you can find training tips, team building and fundraising suggestions, and other healthy living ideas to get you ready for September 28, 2013 on their Facebook page.

Other opportunities to make a difference include becoming an event volunteer, sponsoring a walker or team, or donating directly to SickKids. They're all about changing kids' health for keeps. And we think that's pretty awesome.
