Hugh Laurie as the New Face of L'Oreal: Yea or Nay?
Hugh Laurie is the new face for L'Oreal Paris Men, the company announced this week.
The native Brit is most famous for his role as the sarcastically witty Dr. Gregory House on Fox's House with an American accent so authentic, I was stunned when I learned he hailed from jolly old England. His work has earned him 2 Golden Globe Awards, 2 SAG Awards, and a People's Choice Award, among other accolades.
But is he the right choice for L'Oreal? The cosmetics giant has had several high profile mature actresses on their roster as spokesmodels, but a man with defined wrinkles and curmudgeony TV persona as a beauty personality was unexpected.
As Laurie himself explains, "At first I thought it was a mistake, but then I realized that L’Oréal wasn’t looking for models but real people with strong personalities, who are worth it... and who aren’t afraid to proclaim that using cosmetics can be a very masculine decision, after all."
As a big Hugh Laurie fan, I'm thrilled at this news. What do you think?

He's a total hottie! I think he's perfect for L'oreal men!! He's manly, rugged and sexy; just what every man wants to be (I hope!). Cosmetics has such a feminine stamp to it, which probably dissuades loads of guys from going for the cream, exfoliator or conditioner they desperately need. For L'oreal to take such a rugged man as their 'face' I immagine is really good move. It'll make guys think twice before putting 'females only' stamp on cosmetic products.
@tammy O MY GOODNESS HE IS. I guess it's true what they about men becoming more attractive with age!

Yes! He's a sexy beast. Isn't it interesting how men can be sexy and wrinkled and women the same age have to have as few lines as possible?
Ooooh, a big fat YEA!!! :-D
LOL Tammy! Agreed! | |
To me he'll always be Stuart Little's dad. |
