Dear ChickAdvisor Community,
Like all of you, Alex and I have been watching the Ebola crisis unfolding in horror.
Over 14,000 victims, over 5,000 deaths and the thousands upon thousands of newly orphaned children. They are the poorest of the poor and mostly left to fend for themselves because no one wants to touch them.
We are reaching out to you today, our ChickAdvisor community and friends to do something to help.
Here's the thing about Ebola: It does not discriminate - it's for everyone! It doesn't care how old you are, how dirty or clean, how wealthy or poor, or that you are a 7 year old raising your younger siblings because your parents are already dead.
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) the Ebola outbreak of 2014 is the largest in history. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared this a global health emergency.
Thousands of children in West Africa have been made orphans by this deadly disease, ostracized by their communities and left to take care of themselves. UNICEF estimates that
8.5 million children are at risk.
