ChickAdvisor Blogger, LawyerGirl takes us through fashion etiquette for the legal crowd with this post from her blog... I'm back in Kingston, Ontario now after my two weeks in Vancouver. I flew into Toronto on Wednesday in time for the etiquette session and cocktail reception hosted by McMillan Binch Mendelsohn. Yes, it was a little awkward arriving at the posh law firm lobby lugging two suitcases but those were quickly ticketed and tucked away in coat check (plus I had e-mailed ahead of time to let the organizers know to expect some large suitcases!). The evening was an informative one and presenters Lynne and Lisa from The Etiquette Advantage were both entertaining and engaging. In the next six months, my law school peers and I will be busy with the application/recruiting processes. The hiring process will include the standard resumes, cover letters, and interviews; it may, for those who make it past the initial on campus interivews, also include cocktail receptions, lunches, and dinners.
